No, Manchester United didn't really get clamped in Dublin today

It was just a wind up from a clamper with a sense of humour.

TODAY MANCHESTER UNITED rolled up to The Marker Hotel in Grand Canal Dock in none other than a Barton’s Transport bus.

Anyone who went to primary school in Leinster probably sat on the back of one of these on the way to a school tour at some point, but chances are this one is a bit nicer.

Still… Makes you wonder who got to sit at the back.

Rumours immediately began to spread that the bus had been clamped after a photograph of a clamper beside the wheel emerged online.

The clamping picture made it to The Telegraph and a load of Irish news sites, but the legitimacy of the photograph hadn’t been confirmed.

According to another coach driver at the hotel when the photographs were taken, the clamper just wanted the photograph taken for a joke.

From another angle, it’s pretty clear that’s likely the case.

In fairness, they were parking in an illegal spot, with signs warning that you’re at risk of being clamped.

However, few clampers would be bold enough to go in and clamp Manchester United’s bus.

If that’s not enough to convince you that it was just a joke, just take a look at how much preparation went into clearing the entrance for them. Parking there was no accident.

Just posing for a photo…

Well. That’s that.
